Sorry must have missed the part where he said the car rode bad to being with. Beside I don't see where you get off calling him an idiot for asking a question.
Yes they should fit. Not sure how skinny of a tire you would need but I am guess around a 35-40 series tire to make it work.

I'm putting 17's on my car, maybe 18's. I could put up to 20's on the front and 22's on the back if I wanted too.
And who said it would ride crappy?

 That would be funny to see. Kinda of stupid, however somewhat humorious.

Yeah it would look like a drag car. I've seen it done before, just not on a cavalier thou. haha quite humurous.

Why do you think you can call every newb an idiot when they ask a question? Do you honestly think you are better than us all? I doubt it. You seriously need to stop being a dickhead to people. You do it more and more and it's very childish.
Oh and the ride won't change if you go with 18's. That's what I have on my car and it is actually quite a bit better than stock. Although I took them off for the winter. I'd honestly wait till after winter to put them on. They suck in the snow because of the low profileness. That is the only bad thing about them. Otherwise they are awesome.

Thers quite a few of us who have 18's on our Cavalier actually. The only difference is bigger size compared to stock...and your speedo might be off a tiny little bit. Not enough to be a problem though. They do let you go around corners faster too.

Yeah 18's should be good. The biggest I'd put on mine are 17's but I'm not a big rim sort of guy. For now I'll keep my stock 16's (LS Sport rims), but eventually I'll get me some better ones.

I also have 18's. Tires are 225/40/18.

Personally i think 17's would look better because you can lower the car a little more and tuck the wheels into the wheel wells a little more. The biggest i would go on my car is 16"......

im basiclly getting the rims for free.. so even if there was a chance they dont fit or i dont want them.. sell them for extra ching and get someones that would fit.

i would get some Rotas....they're lighter and since they're smaller diameter, they won't slow your car down....unless you get some big profile tires...

Drag cars use short wide rims, not 20's and 22's.
I will second the Rotas vote, the only problem I'm having is width. Yeah, the 15's are light as hell, but they are also like 6 inches wide. I think I am going to have to compromise and get some 17's because they're wider.

you can get 16x7's....that's more than wide enough for a light little Cavalier.....i assume they weigh about as much as my car.....~2700lbs

Yeah I was looking for 8 inches wide for my future Talon TSI AWD or Eclipse GSX. Turbo and all wheel drive... mmmmm....

12-04-2005, 01:57 AM
that's overkill on most any DSM...you can get 7" wide tires that'll hold all the power you can give them....when you start getting too wide you'll actually start slowing down your car. You don't have to worry about traction in a TSi so much....its AWD!!!

Really? Guess they must just look big on the TV. Learn something new every day.

I'm personally not a fan, but you know everyone has their own opinion. The only rims I like on a cavalier are the ones made for them that come with the sport package.

i got them for freee....... boss gave me 4 of these plus 400 bucks for my truck which i paid 300 for..
if i get sick of them i can sell them for ne profit and be happy.. yeah.. the dont fit the 'look' of the cavy..but u cant argue with free.
EDIT: Just looked up the rims.. 300 bucks a piece. these rims are 1 year old.. i dont think i did so bad.. turned a 300 dollar truck into a 1600 sell >.>

thought about it..and im going to sell the rims.. and getting NEW 18s probably like the new cavys with the 10 spoke star type. yeah i figured i couldnt go wrong.. 300 dollar truck turns into 400 cash plus about 1600 rims/tires.. there 1ish years old..so probably around the 1000 dollar mark.

.. Today i put all the rims on and took these pics of it. I kinda like them but would rather have the money.. have a 4 wheeler coming and need cash. The ride is the same.. and boy.. these tires suck in the snow. but dam.. can u burn them things off.
