"Automatic" lights?

Hi there,
Recently my usually reliable Toyota Camry (Executive ~1994) has given me a bit of grief. I haven't been able to pin point the problem, however I have noticed the following case:

* I'll be driving my car, with the light switch on the OFF setting. After driving for a little while, ie to the next few sets of lights, my lights will be on. I know the lights are on, as I can see it in the reflection of the car infront of me. Even when I turn the lights off, ie by turning it on the ON and then to the OFF dial, moments later after driving the lights will come on again.

Has anyone had this problem before... and know what the cause was? I'm reluctant to bring it to the automachanics until I can give them more details. I only today was able to confirm that my lights came on automatically.

Any help will be appreciated.

~Jennifer

If they are "darkness sensing" lights, then make sure the actual sensor isnt covered up or blocked. other then that possibly a loose connection. hard to say. :screwy:

Sounds like a bad light switch.

Sounds like a bad light switch.

So it's just a matter of replacing the bad light switch? Is that complicated - expensive? Hard to locate?

Well - it takes some dismantling. Get yourself a Haynes or Chilton's

For those who don't know "Haynes or Chilton's" are like I guess car technical guides/manuals (I didn't until I did a google). Thanks for the advice.
I'll be taking it to the automachanics to get it fixed. Just wanted to know more about the possible cause of the problem before I go in blindly into the the automachanics.
Thanks again for your help.
