This is the back side of the non turbo engine from a 97 rs. I have a steady stream of oil coming off the green connector. What is this sensor for? Is it possible for oil to be coming out of it?

that's your oil pressure sending unit. if there's oil coming from it, try replacing it.

That's not a sending unit. It just turns the oil light on or off. Because there's no gauge, it is just an on/off switch basically.

Damn, I wished mine looked like that. Mines all torn up and rusted. Yours is in good shape.

For others, if you were trying to install the oil pressure sender unit for a gauge, you would hook it up there.

Thanks. I thought the sensor would be near the oil filter like on the 4g63 engine. As soon as I find an 1" deep socket, I will have it out.

Im guessing you live in the north then or your car has lived there. Mine has live in central florida since 97. That would explain the lack of rust.
