CRAZY idea.. will it work?

Ok imagine this... 3.4L toyota tacoma engine.. in a 5th gen celica? My friend is selling his motor to do a 350 swap and im thinkin of try a swap.
Hes giving me the computer and EVERYTHING that comes on the engine..
Will that motor fit in a celica and i must have a 5spd so will the celica tranny bolt to it or is their a 5 spd tranny for that motor that will fit in my celica? Any help is great im definetly wanting to try this.

the only way you could get it to work is if somehow you had someone create you a V transmission, bil norwood invented it, its a transmision that would aloow a motor to be non transverse in a fwd car.

plus i doubt it would fit in the engine bay w out modifications

in other words, no unless you got about $10,000+ i wouldnt even try it

Darn... thats what i thought id hear.. I have all wheel drive already but id still need a real wheel drive transmission to bolt up the the rear gears or something like that?

have you talked to Toysport? They used to sell RWD conversion kits for 5th gens I think.

No i havent ever even heard of toysport..Il look them up. Do you know how much the conversion kits cost by chance?

oh you have an all track? thats a stupid idea anyway, the 3sgte has more potentail then a 5vzfe engine if your going for hp to $$$ wise....

plus the tacoma engine only has 190 hp 220 tq, the 3sgte has 200 hp 200 tq, you would actually be slower and your car would ahdnle like shit becuase of all the additional weight

That's a heavy engine.

i think he has all-trac parts, not necessarly an all-trac. He could find another V6 of some sort that wouldn't be that heavy. I've seen a lot of V6s weigh less than some I4s. Not sure about that 3.4L, but maybe a camry motor?

Yeh i have a Gt-s but its all wheel drive. Non turbo 5sfe.I looked up toyo sport for a rwd conversion and couldnt find a thing ,idk if i just didnt know how to navigate very weel through the site or if they didnt have it. I will keep looking around for some kinda v6 that might fit easier tho and rwd conversion, probably just do a google.? haha

how do you have a AWD 5sfe gt-s? did you do a swap, what tranny are you using?

the 5vz-fe is way to big for your celica man, what are you thinking? but hey is he selling the 3.4? and all the req. wire so if he is selling it pls email me at [email protected] I got a TOYOTA 4RUNNER V6 (3VZE) 4x4 and the 3.4 fit perfect on my transmission... and is he selling his transmission too? I want the engine and trans..

Yeh im pretty sure hes selling everything with it ill talk to him tonight and make sure. sry for the delay iv been working my butt off and havent had time has time to get on much. Also the engine is high miles youd 200k but it still runs perfect no smoke or anything

bro stick with the engine uve got now its a powerful proven performer why would u want to put a 3.4 in there just look at the engine weight ratio ...big loss there .. all i can say is boost !!
