VW hot rodder's

ok.motor heads.. I love cars too..The bug taps my soal like a harley,, Help me out..Dual Dellorto carbs, rebuilt 1750cc engine, smells really rich...When someone's behind me, (as it usually happens)they say black smoke just pours from my exhaust,,,,hense burning rich ...I just bought it, last month, and I need to run it through delaware emissions...I heard about the old 4 qts to the 1 gal of dry gas trick...I also heard that that they know if you run race gas, if you run too much of it ...the race gas wont register on the sniffer and they can smell it. Causing them to say, " Get the hell out of here and put some gas in it". Any other ideas..? What is a good mixture? I want to drive my hot rod!!!!!!!!!!!!! Right now she will beat almost any stock (camparable) car on the road!!! Retarding the the tining to 0 degrees is another idea.....any help appreciated ,,,It was last tagged in New Mexico..oh yeah...how do I post a pic here???? just a little motivator...hehe
