Taking off A/C belt??

My A/C works but blows only slightly cool air so there is no point in using it pretty much. I heard if you remove the belt or something that it makes your car faster. So how do I do this and is it going to mess up anything?

it wont mess anything up, just find the AC belt tensioner, loosen it up, and remove it, very easy.

you can either do it the "correct" way like scott said, or you can just hack at it with a knife:devil:

LOL, well being im trying to be a mechanic, i gave him the technical way, but yes you can just cut it in half.
