I know you're looking for personal experiences only, but I've got an interesting story I just found out last night. A friend/coworker of my friend (and someone I've met many times) bought one on e-bay a few months ago. Everything was fine for almost a month and then the welds for the wastegate broke off at his work parking lot. The weight of the wastegate was too much for the horrible welds and kept braking (even after being rewelded). Then he got fired from his job, his car sat there for 3 weeks, and then his car was stolen from the parking lot.

SSAC parts are made out of paper mache and old shoelaces....i don't think i would trust it. I am building a turbo set up right now and i'd like to cheap out on it, but if i do, i know its going to be garbage.....you have to decide what you want out of your car. You get what you pay for in most cases~

ssautochrome is definately a no go. They have shitty manifolds and the turbos are absolute garbage. My friend has one of their turbos, while the car was being street tuned, as soon as the tuner hit peak boost the center cartridge decided to take a big ole shit and blew the turbo. Rebuilding it cost $400 and after about 6 months it's now leaking oil. That piece of shit turbo cost him a total of $750. Could have bought a really nice turbo that won't fuck up with that money.

all i have to say is that you get what you pay for....there are no shortcuts!

their manifolds do crack......my boys went on his LS after 1000 miles, they use a milder steel than what they should, great deal on everything else but i would try to sell the manifold on ebay and just go with a rev-hard or something simple like that...unless u got a welder in your garage

they have horrible customer service if they even have any...... I purchased one of their kits and after finding out half the bends were wrong, and the mani didnt fit with the a/c like it's supposed too (none of them will those fucking liars) I decided to contact them and compalin. Their phone dosent work, and they NEVER reply to e-mails. The only way to get ahold of them is to leave bad feedback on ebay but then they just instult you. go check out their feedback if you dont believe me, these guys are horrible to their customers! not to mention I could mold a better mani out of dog shit (it would last longer too)_

Schister - You say you're staying away from SSAC yet you have SSAC 38mm Wastegate in the parts list of your sig? What's up with that?

i stay away from their turbos and manifolds....that's all.....i wouldn't ever get their kits, but some of their parts are a great piece for the price!! I have a friend that has one of the kits and hasn't had any problems.....i just won't risk it

SSAC mani and turbo sucks. as far as their ICs, WGs, BOVs go, they arent bad at all.

Schister66

yeah because nothin can really go wrong w/ any of that stuff... the IC piping might not fit together really great, but its cheap and will get you close....

I stand behind some of their stuff, i just won't get a turbo or mani from them...

I think buying from SSAC is like buying a lotto ticket. You know you just wasted money..but you hope your win something (like a good part). Your chances of getting a quality part from SSAC is also like playing the lotto...you arent going to win.
