I know this is wrong forum, but i need a REAL quick answer. Does anyone know if theres a name for a type of inspection where the WHOLE car is looked over? Like the tranny, motor, all the shit under the hood, brake systems, and all that? And how much would this cost? Ive a 92 accord and i wanna get the car running as good as it should be and i need to know what all is wrong and what all needs replacing. i want to make sure all the necessities are good in my car before i put any money and work into cosmetics and stuff(dont worry, no neon lights and chrome lol) If anyone can offer me some help please reply or IM me at ironfistpb on AIM. I really appreciate it, and mods i apologize for being hardheaded but i need an answer soon b4 i go to bed so i can go get my car looked at after work tomorrow.

Um... Just go to a place like Midas and ask them to check everything out... make sure everything is in good running condition.

Just tell them what you want, and I'm sure they can figure it out.

Just go to any shop and ask for a general overview, diagnostic, whatever you want to call it. They'll do it, probably charge you for an hours worth of their time.

It depends if you want them to fix anything that might be wrong. But I would say that they'll charge you for 1 hour of time minimum so that's atleast 50-60 bucks.

Theres actually this thing called "Car Checkers of America". I had them check out my car. Basically you call them up and they come to the location in this van full of equipment and do an EXTENSIVE check. The guy will go out and test drive the car for a little bit, you can ride along if you wish. They check for leaks, compression and all that good stuff. They have this little thing that they put on the fenders to check the thickness of the paint to see if its the original fender or not. The also have this little thing that they place on the ground and roll the car over it to check if the alignment is good. They also smog the vehicle on location. YES THATS RIGHT! SMOG ON LOCATION!

I don't know if they're available in your area but i'd definitely try and find out. It cost me $100; which I understand sounds a bit high. But for all the things they do, it was definitely worth it.

They need to change their name to Car Checkers of Atlanta, cause all they do is that area and a little around it

There are probably similar things out there tho

I'm from California, so they do it in other places for sure. Though, you're right about their website being a bit misinformative.
