I am like the other guy the ford forum does nothing. I have a 79 f-100 short bed regular cab and i am going to get it repainted. Don't want to spend TONS of money for one. So i was checking out macco, iknow i know they are not the best but they offer better paint they have pakages for like 299, 399,550,and 950. So i was looking at the 550 pakage and they have like a 3 year warenty. Do you trust them for paint? I am just having them sand it and paint it no body work. What do you think?

Welcome to the forums :smokin: I hope you can be patient in getting your answer here. People are usually quick to help out, but being the holidays I guess were all busy. There are some very good GM efficionados here (GM gurus) and I am sure one will chime in soon. I am a new GM owner, so I am afraid I cannot be of any help, but hold tight and the regulars will be here to help you!!
I cannot say I have ever seen a macco paint job, but It will probably be better than your current paint. I have a 77 f150 too!! I would pay someone $550 for a paint job just to save ot from rusting!!

ya my grandapa got one on his truck and it looks good, but i want one that is not going to chip and will look normal. Mine has not rust only on the top a little like yours did, and some on the wheel whels. I will fix the rust and get it painted. But for that price you can beat it and it will be good paint because i will buy the original paint and have them put it on. So i will probly get it painted in the spring and let you know what happens. And to let you all know i am a chevy guy the only reason i have this is one it is a clasic and two my uncle gave it to me.

Most Maaco shops are individually owned (i.e. franchises), so results can vary a little. Most Maaco paint jobs I've seen were not bad

I personally, would take it to a local body shop witha good rep. The one I always use is my mothers cousin, and they do excellent work! He has hired some of the best body men in the area and his painter is top notch. Just go check out a few places and ask for a estimate, it should be free or either tell them what you want to spend and see what they recommend for you :D
I've had my truck painted on 7 times from deer and 2 from accidents and it still looks like new. They always matched the paint just right.

My Sister had her car painted by Maaco and it looked like it had goosebumps in places the paint was terrible. About 6 months after she had it painted it started peeling and chipping. She paid for the middle Deal so it wasn't the really cheap package. It was the sand the entire car and minor body work and paint it, deal. If your getting any plastic painted DON'T take it to these guys.
About 3 months after Maaco painted it they folded their doors and disappeared into the night.
If you plan on keeping the truck awhile pay the extra coin and get somebody reputible to paint it. If your gonna flog it in less than year than Maaco is your way to go...

I work in a garage and all of the Macco jobs I have seen had tons of overspray in the wheelwells and under the hood. I have even seen overspray ON the ENGINE....I would never go to them.
