Tranny shift kit?

I am considering installing a shift kit in my 99 ram 2500 auto trans. I have heard that this will help keep the oil temp down & extend the life of the trans. It has 58,000 miles and is working good now. Does anyone have a recommendation as to what type or model? I do tow a boat (4000lb) & a travel trailer. Thank you

Instead of a shift kit try www.fastman.com and check out the valve bodies. Will firm up shift and maintain the life of the tranny. Not positive if he has one for your app but he might.

B&M is my top choice if I'm building a transmission for a customer...or me...

B&M's shift improver kit comes with Stage 1 and 2 kits in the same box. I'm pretty sure transgo's kit only has one. But other than that, I believe they are the same. It's your preference...

Do not put a shift kit in a 727.All I heard are bad things and not a lot of good comments.I know that my father sees one with a shift kit in it,The valve body goes in the scrap pile asap and another one goes in it's place.Ther is another thing to check,the bottom transmission line towards the radatior.Some dumb engineer at Chysler thought of putting a plastic checkball in that line.It is a bad idea,the checkball melts,plugs that line right up and burns up transmission.The only way to prevent that is get rid of that plastic checkball and no more transmission problems.
