cat and header exhuast trouble shooting

hey what up guys, and yeah i know you guys been hearing these forums alot, but i just need to make something clear before i start my mini swap. i have a 97 civic cx and i'm going to do a mini me swap. i know if i pull out the original header, also meaning pulling out the cat with it too right? cause i planning to put my old 92-95 civic ex stainless steel dc sports header (4-2-1 2pc) in my ek. i know that i needed a cat for emmision and smog, so i was planning to get a 96-00 ex cat for my car. is there any way i can put in the header and cat with out cutting, welding the exhaust and piping, or do i need to? what can i do to make everything fit smooth? also do a 96-00 civic ex cat converter bolt right into my civic cx resonator pipe?
