I just wanted to hear anything someone had to say about the Halo headlights. I have the stock headlights which i think are fine but I puting in new lightbulbs which are brighter and now I notice that the lences of the headlight are dirsty and that the plastic has looked like it has melted. Is there anyway to fix this, it looks like it is inbeded in the headlight.
Becasue of this I have been looking at new headlights and why not get somthing better if I have to get something. I saw some black halo lights on ebay for about $150 and just wanted to here how they hold up.
Thx, Mason.

Here's a link (http://www.g2ic.com/tegtips/lighting/12.html) to a step-by-step guide...It's not a Camaro, but it's still the same process. What year is your car? Third gen housings are like $20 bucks at Advance for Silverstars...not worth it if you can replace them for that cheap IMO. Wetsanding is a PITA, just to let you know...I did my old Avenger's headlights and they looked awesome when I was done, but I thought my arm was going to fall off.

if he's considering halos i assume its a 98-02 which I would advise wetsanding as well, i hear it works wonders

Yeah it does. People tend to think that the haziness is because their lenses have condensation in them...but the crap is really on the outside.

My camaro is a 2000 and I like the head light so I want to fix them. The only problem with them is the lense with is almost I think melting it looks like. I put the ultra white lights in them, you know the par that costs $50 at auto zone. Whould those casue these problems that I am having or is it just normal ware. The lense fells very ruff on the out side.

No, I don't think so. your talking about the stuff you can get off with polish or wax right. I have tried that but this is actually burt into the plastic lense. Um, it looks almost cracked like it heated up and then cooled back down leving a bunch of hairline cracks that I can feel.

If they're melting you should find out why before you replace them or anything...because it's just going to happen again. Make sure you have the right watt bulbs.......

How can I tell if its the right watt. Does it say somewhere on the headlight hardware?

Your car manual (if you still have it) should have a list of the bulb codes for the entire vehicle. If not, any parts store can look them up for you on the computer.

It's not going to work as well as the wetsanding, but it's your car...do what you want.

Well i guess I'm going to wet sand it. Should I do both inside the lense and out? How do I part the headlights with the car. I have looked and I can't fig it out.
Thx

Just the outside...you don't have to dissassemble the headlight...
