SRS Light is on

When I bought my car 3 months ago the SRS light was on. When I asked the guy who I bought it from my it was on he said he had an aftermarket steering wheel installed and when he had the stock one put back on the air bag wasn't connected again. Also neither horn button on the steering wheel works.
I don't really want to pay to get this fixed if possible. I'd rather do it myself or not have an air bag. So does anyone know where some connectors/fuses are located that could be related to this problem?
Thanks

the guy you bought the car from is right...the srs light is on because the airbag is un-plugged. either pull out the srs bulb in the gauges or put the stock steering wheel back in with the air bag.

The stock steering wheel is on the car. When he had it switched back he said it never got plugged in. Do you know where the connector is?

on the inside of the steering wheel. you'll have to pull the airbag out and it should be right back there. if it's not there check the steering column.

Are there any precausions he should take to lessen the chance of the bag deploying when he conects it, like disconecting the battery?

yes. definitely disconnect the battery. if you check the manual it might give you some more precautions such as pulling a fuse or something like that, but you'll have to look it up.
