I've just noticed that it has worse valvetick with 10W30 than 5W30 since the 10W30 is too heavy to fully coat the valvetrain.

im going to chnage the oil in another 200 kms...and i will definately put 5 30 in it..i only hope it has 10 30 now and that would explain the tik..

if there was any flood water in the engine there are small grit particles in the engine. You must get them flushed and suspended and then drained out ASAP!

If it were my car I would :
Run a flush product (liberally), change oil to a full synthetic 5/20best or 5/ 30 (the Walmart full syntheic is the cheapest for the job)

change the oil filter every 200 miles for 2000 miles.
Change the oil in a very short period (500-1000 miles)

The full syn is very good for clean up of older varnish/buildup; water (a great source of oxygen and hydrogen) in a hot engine causes chemical reactions resulting in complex hydrocarbons /polymers tha "gum up" the works. They also changes the friction/lubrication properties. A full syn will help clean up some of those complex polymers that form. It may seem excessive but engines are VERY expensive in comparison.

thanks very much for your input..I live in Canada so we we have whats called an emmssion test...it passed with flying colors in all categories...should I assume that there will be no future re precussions.?its been driven about 100 miles since the incedent...then it when in for an emmision test and I assumed cause it came out so well. on its readings..that everything is fine accept the tik tik tik...ive yet to find out what they use dto changethe oil either 5 or 10 w 30 should I still go the route with synthetic?

the tick will not likely have any effect on emmisions.

The tick is sound of metal on metal slap. eventually an engine wears out in the meantime, i would definitely do the flush thing to remove any grit materials - the difference may be 10 K miles vs 100K miles of useful life.
