98 le sabre lowering springs/better suspension

i've got a 98 le sabre custom that needs suspension work done. i want to drop the car an inch. i was wondering what you guys would recommend i look into getting for it. also, what is the best way to open the exhaust for the car? i've got a flowmaster 40 super series muffler, but is it worth putting headers & new piping in? the car still runs strong, brand new alternator, radiator, gaskters. any help is appreciated. thanks. if you can post links, that would be appreciated, too.
