5 different mounts?!

The 2nd gen 3.5 has 5 different mounting points. Man, I only thought there were three. Total cost to replace all 5 mounts, not including labor, is close to 600 dollars. For now I would just like to try the front mount.
Anyways. Does anybody beleive that the average home mechanic would be able to replace a front motor mount on a 2002 3.5. It seems like it wouldn't be too hard. I don't think the engine needs to be lifted to get to the front (ball shaped) mount.

Dealer labor about $100 an hour plus the cost of the mounts, the time standard for the job is probably 2.5 hours. Which means you could do it in a day, easy.

I may try to do it. God know I can't mess the motor up any more than I already have. I still can't believe I've been driving with a broken motor mount since july and never noticed it. I'm gonna order the part today and look at it tommorrow. I guess if I can't figure it out it could always be towed to the mechanic. Even if I do the mount my self I'm still gonna take it to the mechanic to verify that nothing has been broken in the four months that I've been driving it. Hopefully this is the whole cause of my overheating!

I agree that it likely wouldn't be too bad to do the front mount. However, are you sure that's even the issue? Why the front one first..other that it's the easiest one to replace.
