High fuel pressure

I just replaced my fuel pump in a 2002 Focus and it is running 115 - 180 psi fuel pressure. Does this sound like a fuel pressure regulator? Also when I take a right hand turn it wants to die under load but not at idle. It does seem to be getting poor gas mileage shortly before and now after the fuel pump change. I think if the regulator went bad it also help destroy the old fuel pump.
