Here's the situation:
1997 112k miles. I've owned for 2 1/2 yrs, since 59k. Most of my miles are highway.
Here's the issue. When parked on a flat surface, the driver's side front fender is about 1" closer to the front wheel than the psgr side front fender is to its front wheel. Does this mean the strut, or struts, are shot and need to be replaced? Could it be anything else - control arm, bushings, etc? Can I expect this to get worse, and affect alignment, etc?
If struts are needed, is this diy land? See my accomplishments below...but struts and strut springs, hmm. If so what brand, model number would you recommend?
Your thoughts are always appreciated. By the way, with your help, just replaced the plugs and wires (and cured the hesitation, etc).
So far:
Replaced radiator, and fully flushed the system
Removed front door panel to tighten front mirror bolt (rattling)
Replaced front calipers, pads, and rotors
Replaced rear air shocks
Replaced fuel filter
Replaced plugs and wires
Best yet................and the car still works!
Thanks again.
Brian.

My '97 was exactly the same. In fact, you could tell the strut on that side was shot by pushing down on the fender and it would bounce more than the one on the right. New struts did cure the height issue. Not much available for '97 other than Monroe Sense-A-Trac so that's what I put on. They are only equal to the stock units(suck). KYB will fit '95-'96 but not '97-'99. Easy R&R job using basic hand tools and compressor.
