loss of power

Hey,
I have a 2001 2.0HDI 110bhp 307. When i accelerate from 1st and 2nd gear, the engine doesnt seem to accelerate enough on those gears, as in, it wont accelerate the car more and there would still be plenty of revs left. it starts dying on around 2700 revs!
There is better acceleration on 3rd gear then as the car picks up speed.
anyone knows what might be wrong?

Check all the turbocharger and intercooler hoses.
If these leak you lose power.
