anyone know how to install a transmission oil cooler on a 99 blazer. it seem like there is very little space infront of the AC coil and not enugh space infront of the fan

Place it behind the radiator off to one side to aid in heating the transmission fluid in winter. Or, just place it in front of the A/C condensor off to one side to get maximum cooling. Look for a plate style cooler, they tend to offer much more cooling for much smaller packages. One as small at 7"h x 9"w x 1" thick would be optimal for a 4L60E that saw moderate towing loads.

For the heck of it, look at the "better" coolers, which look like small radiators when checking these out. At the time Advance was out of them and I saw two "flat" models. Did not know there was another option until later. The smaller one was too small, the other fit my 93, but with a lot more effort than I thought it would. The other unit they were out of was more money but would have been easy to install and best unit as it was actually smaller in size although it was thicker. These come with adapters to connect to your existing cooler lines and are a nice thing to have.

Yep, that's what a plate cooler is. :D They look like mini, black Radiators. Look for the kit from Jeggs.

Wish I had bought that type for sure. The one I did buy does well, it is flatter and larger but required me to do some fitting for sure. The one I have looks like this

Any port in a storm! Reducing operating temps by as little as 20 degrees will extend transmission and fluid life like you would not believe. When you tow, a biger surface area in a smaller package like a plate cooler really shines. Some of them even come with flat motor fans to further boost cooling in slow moving conditions and can be set to run with a thermostat too. But to verify what you have and plan to do - yes on both. Any little bit helps. :) I am planning on a Jegg's kit come Spring/Summer. It's too dam cold to be putzing around with the truck these days, and no daylight after work. :P
