82 900 turbo ignition problem

My dad has an 82 or 83 900 turbo. He had to jump start the car today and it ran for a little bit. As soon as he turned the headlights on the car died. He tried starting it again and it wouldn't even turn over. Any suggestions? Sounds like maybe a contact problem, but I'm not sure.

"Suggestions" would be to check the battery and the battery cables. Then, once you got it running, head over to the local AutoZone or what have you and let them test the altenator for you for free to make sure that it's still charging the battery.
