I recently tore apart my front drivers side to find a noise. I found that the needle bearing that supports the cv axle on the inboard side of the hub was gone(only the outer race left). Now the trouble is finding a replacement. None of my local auto parts stores know what I am talking about. Is this a dealer only part? this is the bearing inside the spindle that the wheel hub slides on to. It's inner race is apperently the cv axle itself. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, I know the one your talking about. It is pressed into the back of the steering knuckle. You'll have to check with the dealer on that. Order a new seal while your at it. I believe you will have to take the steering knuckle off and take it to a machine shop to have the old one pulled and the new one pressed in. I tried briefly to pull mine out but is very tight. There was nothing wrong with mine I just wanted to inspect and repack the grease but ended up just pushing as much grease in there with my finger as I could. Please let us know if it is just a dealer item or not and how much. Good luck.

Yeah, It appears to be dealer only part. $15 for the bearing and $15 for the seal. Wish I would have known it was called a "knuckle". Would have saved me a bunch of explaining.LOL. I got the old race out by mig welding a bead around the center and it popped out. Thanks for all of the help!:)
