Another ECU Question?

hey guys/girls - this may be the dumbest question ive ever asked, but can i use a manual ECU in my automatic car?

ive seen a bunch of 5-spd manual ecu's, and once in a blue moon an auto one, so can i use either? or must my auto have an auto ecu?

doesnt anyone know?

I think it'll work b/c the trannies aren't computer-controlled in out cars... but you will get a constant CEL... why do you want a different ECU? you're only going to be able to use a dx ecu w/ your dpfi setup...

well im also changing the injection to mpfi which has a complete setup on ebay so i will pick up both. anyway, my friend just got an ecu for his car, and it added a ton of extra power, so im building up the D15, the fastest you ever seen.

oh, y would i keep getting the check engine light?

...b/c its still a manual ecu on an auto tranny...it doesnt really control the tranny..but it still knows its there..

but if i get the auto ecu, do you think it mess with the light?

..there are no auto si ecu's...but I'm sure you could find an auto ex sedan ecu... theyr'e mpfi...

ok how bout this, can a buy an Si computer and plug it into my DX, then get the chip for that?

well i see on ebay the PM6 ecu's from si's and then they got chips to upgrade the air/fuel mix, HP, timing and shit, so iwas wondering if i can buy the SI ecu, then buy a chip for it.
