This may be a really stupid question, but this is the first time this situation has come up for me. At the gas station i asked for premium (i have a GSR) and they filled it with regular (87 octane i belive). Will this mess up my car, or am i just over reacting?

it'll run fine. you may notice a slight decrease in power but its mostly in your head. You also may notice some pinging when trying to climb hills etc. but no long term damage will happen unless you have you internals changed from stock.
I've been running 87 in my gs-r since gas prices rocketed in the fall, I don't even miss the 93 anymore.

by the way I just noticed your sig says you have a B17 head on a B18c block? how do you like it? notice anything from it?
I've never been a fan of the B18c head and I am a strong supporter of the B16 head used on the B17 and the B18c5.

Thanks all for the replies. As far as your question knorwj, i bought it like that so i have no idea how it was before... sad. But i bet its better?

Well the type R or rather the b16 head used on all B16/B17/B18c5 engines is optimized for high rpm power, whereas the b18c head or more specifically the intake manifold was design to give a little more midrange power and therefore supposedly better daily comfort and drivability, but at the cost of some high rpm power. I was just curious how noticable the difference was, thanks for the reply though.
