Here is my Revell SVT Lightning - this is by far my best paint job yet. It's Testors Transparent Candy Grape over a Grabber Blue base (I wanted a blue base, and it was the only blue that I had a lot of). No clearcoat, no polishing, but still VERY reflective. I'm going to have to attempt my first wash on the panel lines since the purple really didnt cover the blue in the panel lines at all.

The purple is closer to the second picture, but a little darker. I used the flash on that one. On the screen on my camera, the color looked more accurate without the flash, and now that I'm in PA and my models are in MA, there won't be new pictures or progress til Christmas break. Then hopefully I'll get outdoor pictures.

photos are thumbnailed because they are large pictures.

Doesn't look like you primed the truck before painting the color coat. Sweet job anyways man!

no it looks like he sprayed the purple too thick and the panel lines didnt take paint so the blue base coat showed through

Most likely the purple sprayed too heavy - I was using a spray can for that, and the paint comes out REAL heavy. I definately primed it first

yea, was it testors?

typical testors.. press for a second and you spray a gallon of paint.
