Oil pressure sender

What is the tread size in 3,8 Trans sport? My original sender broke and new Standard motor sender is giving lower readings. I want to install an analog meter to chek the real oil pressure. I thought that I put a T-joint, new sender in one output and analog meter in another output.

YOur idea is OK and I dont have the thread size,sorry. Just in case, I just want to point out that the oil sender has 4 contacts, 2 for the gauge, and 2 that feed voltage to the fuel pump as soon as oil pres is 3 or 4 psi. Normally the fuel pump relay activates the pump and the oil pressure switch acts as a backup once the engine runs.

This is just why I want to keep the pressure gauge sender contacted also. I thought that fuel cut of pressure was 5 psi. When in idle, pressure is middle of red zone, and normal driving, engine hot, pressure is just on top of red. I've been told that camshaft bearings are reason for oil pressure loss. One mechanic told that he has done 5 engines with this problem. I'm going to change those bearings as soon as possible, but now we have snow and I don't have a garage
:mad: so I try to find out the real oil pressure first and after that decide can I still drive my van till summer or not.

Hopefully someone knows the tread size. I had the original sender but I threw it away.......

I don't know the size for sure, but oil pressure sending units used to be 1/8th inch and a standard pipe thread. I don't know if they have changed in recent years or not. I also have a 93 with the 3.8, and my oil pressure hovers just above zero at idle when warm, so yours can probably go a little ways yet.
