93 taurus brakes

I have replace the drums/shoes/cylinders and front pads on my 93 Taurus wagon. I am able to bleed the brakes in proper sequence and get a nice firm pedal with the engine off, but as soon as I start the eng. I get brake travel all the way to the floor. After engine is shut off the firm pedal returns. Anyone know what might be happening??

Yes I did.

You may still have air in the lines. Do you plan to bleed the brakes often (yearly like we're supposed to)? If so, I'd suggest installing a set of speed bleeders on your car. They usually run about $24 for all four corners and the chain parts stores usually stock them. With speed bleeders, it is very easy to properly bleed your brakes and get all the air out. I'd suggest trying to bleed your brakes again making sure to keep the master cylinder full.

Also, you may want to cycle the ABS pump a few times to get the fresh fluid into the pump.
