I'm in trouble.. hoping someone can help out. for last few months, my car has been giving a "maf sensor or maf sensor low circuit voltage" error code.. its been stalling almost everytime I let up on gas.. no matter what speed.
I put in TWO new MAF sensors.. same problem.. I don't know what a "low circuit voltage error" is.
Yesterday, I solder'd on a new pigtail to the maf sensor thinking maybe a bad wire or connection.. it ran great for 15 minutes at idle.. and then the code came back.
back in the garage and on the computer. same error code. so I check the connectin to the computer.. pull off the wire plug and check it, put back on. My buddy put some electrical grease on the maf plug.. I thought this would short all three wires out together.. (later we cleaned all the gease off just in case after the following problem)
then started the car.. It barely runs!! same error code.. but now in addition error codes say these: "random misfires,, Cylinder #1 misfires, Cylinger #1 fuel injection problem".. I had to drive it home.. almost left me on side of road.. undriveable now..
What happened? I did find where a mouse started chewing on Cylinder #3 fuel injector... the wires were not broke,, just stripped off some, so I covered w/ electrical tape...
Computer problem? where could I get a used computer just to try for 5 minutes? Is it possible to use another used computer or will it mess it up?
Thanks all... I'm really in a problem here... Its my daily driver for the family... wife is in tears! (always bad when you leave to fix something and come back its so much worse)

The GM dealer should be able to test your engine computer to see if it working ok.
I really doubt it's the computer, but if it is:
For a used computer www.car-parts.com (http://www.car-parts.com)
www.rockauto.com (http://www.rockauto.com) (new)
Check each of those wires for resistance which would cause a voltage drop. Use a ohm-meter and stick a small push pin (or needle) directly into the wire if you can't get an open contact.
I would just bring the car into the GM dealer and have them use the Tech2 to see what is wrong.

What's a GM tech2? A dianostic computer??
Today I went over the wiring again.. The two wires to #3 fuel injector the mouse chewed on I looked at again.. I had electrical taped both of them separate.. and then tape them together..
I separated the two wires and pulled the plug from the computer and re plugged in.. I didn't notice anything different..
BUT ! it ran great.. all cylinders firing.. I think the two wires to #3 injector were shorting somehow and it read as a #1 cylinder misfire..
I drove 5 miles before the check engine light came on... It still ran good, so I figure the code will show the MAF warning again..
I did use an ohm meter today.. not really sure how to use it.. I touched the MAF sending wire on one end.. and touched various computer pins until the ohm meter maxed out.. I did the same for the negative wire.. which showed about half of the computer pins giving some sort of reading (weak).. and then the positive.. about half the computer pins gave some (weak) sign.. until I touched one.. it maxed out and blew the fuse in my ohmeter... So obviously I'm not sure what I'm doing with a ohm meter..
I pray the misfire and raw fuel going thru the exhaust is over.. but that of course leaves the mystery of the MAF...
One post I read said that the MAF error could be caused by a conflicting signal from another sensor like a TPS or a rpm sensor... any thoughts on that?
Thanks for the quick reply...
