My service engine light soon has been coming on constantly, I have been told that it is my throttle positioning sensor. I was also told that it is a sensor that always goes on a eclipse. Is this true, or was I sold a lemon?

Have the code read. If it is the trottle pos. sensor then it's an easy fix = not a lemon. You're going to find out that these car need to be tinkered with occationaly even with no mods done to them. Pick up a Haynes manual, it will be your bibal.

I just reviewed the Haynes manual and it says in there that you do have to remove the throttle body. Shouldn't take you very long. I've taken mine off many times.

Very easy to do on both N/A and Turbo models. Takes only a couple minutes once you know how to do it. The TPS does go out. Mines not working right now. Just got one in though. Good luck. Oh, cost is about 50

i have also just replaced my tps (i have a handy reach-around-corners-tool so it was easy to get that underside screw off:grinyes:), but somehow, sh1t hit the fan during the 5 minute swap and now when i start her up she'll redline for like 5 seconds and then drop down to 1k rpm and jump up and down between that and about 2k rpm. i put the old tps back on and it does the same thing. playing with the throttle manually while the engine is running(if you can call it that) does absolutely nothing. can anyone help me out?
