Hello All,
Here's the story, 95 Astro, 2WD, 217,000 miles on orginal transmission, never leaked, never slipped, no problems shifting now. All of a sudden, over night really, it started leaking, no leak while ideling, pours while running, but has to warm up first.
Checks made so far for leak, not speed ohmeter seal, not the dip stick seal, not the tail/drive shaft seal, does not appear to be from top of transmission.
Last week dropped the pan, replaced fluid and seal with OEM, GM seal and filter, some fine powder on magnet, but not bad considering this was the first fluid change.
So, I'm thinking torque converter seal or cracked converter. Before I start pulling this thing is there anything else I can do. I really don't have the money to hava a Pro do it, even though I would love too.
