Heater Problem

The heater on my '91 T-bird just stopped working. It is only blowing cold air and the display on the temp control shows E7. Although the car is 14 years old, it is in otherwise excellent condition with only 65k miles. Any and all advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

could be a heater core, a blend door motor. I'm not familiar with "E7" code..

I'm not familiar with "E7" code either. But it definitely acts like a heater core problem. DO you get the smell of radiator fluid?

If you have no leeks and fluid level is fine then the H.C. is probably your problem. May want to check the temp controls themselves. Not sure about the 91 but my 85 is vacuum controlled and could be stuck on cold.

Hope this helps.

The display will not show any codes if the heater core is blocked. If you had heat and it suddenly started blowing cold air then it is a problem with the temp blend door or actuator. Are both heater core (not radiator) hoses about the same temperature?
