U-Pol #1 clear

I was recommended this clear coat and I was wondering if it is any good. I just airbrushed my s15 Silvia with Cobra Colors Ancio Boraleas Pearl and it is amazingly beautiful...Thanks Leon! Anyways, the clear comes in a metallic orange colored can. Just wondering if any one here has used it, and if it is good or not. Thanks!

Is it lacquer? Perhaps an acrylic?

We used it at school. It's.....cheap. But it works great, suprisingly! I don't remember either if it was acrylic or laquer. Im leaning towards laquer tho.

Website doesn't tell you what kind of solvent it contains, though I am almost certain the person holding the can could find out if it says it on the can.

I suspect it's a lacquer base too though, which brings on the question as to how hot it is.

It doesn't say on the can. All it says....Its compatible with water based basecoats. And umm...it wasn't that cheap. It was 18.00 for the one can. But I guess it can clear a few cars.

Blubaja- Did you spray the U-Pol on auto motive paints? How did it come out? Did you have to sand it after applied?

It came out good for its price. $18.00 is cheap in 1:1 world. It depended on the painter, if it needed to be sanded. It wasn't as good as a PPG paint. But you can sand it if you want.

well, the PPG is a 2 part clear correct? I heard those are expensive and have very short shelf life when opened. Is this true?
