I need help putting together my stereo system.

I have a CRX and at the moment I only have a pair of door speakers. They are Polk Audio speakers, with a Kenwwood H/U. I used to have 2- 12" JL Audio subs in a Bandpass box, with an amp, but they were stolen. Now that I have an alarm and the windows heavily tinted, I am looking to adding to my system. I know my stuff still can get stolen but oh well.
I am want to add a pair of rear speakers and a 4 channel amp. I am looking for sound quality. Now all of the speakers that I have looked at aren't rated for a lot of power. Usually the max RMS watts are 80 watts. So what kind of amp would you guys recommend. And how many watts should it have? 300 or 400 watts?

And which brand of speakers would you recommend? I like Polk Audio, but I was looking at putting in maybe some Infinity Kappas? Which brand do you think would be best? Any brand I mean, not just the previous two that were mentioned. And are those component speaker systems worth the extra money? I am looking at a pair of speakers that are rated at 60 watts RMS. Now would it be safe to run an amp that pushes 62.5 watts RMS? It won't blow the speakers?

First of all, yes you can safely push 62.5 rms to those speakers. With most speakers you can give them a lot more than they are recommended. I suggest JL Audio comps and coaxs in the rear. They sounds awesome, rated at I think 60 watts rms. I'm giving them 75rms and JL claims they'll take 150 all day. Which is true, I guy a knew was doing that.

I'm using JLs 300/4 4-channel amp and I have no complaints whatsoever. Awesome, clean sound all the time.

IMO i would focus on getting a good set of front if you are planning on some subs.. i would buy a good set of front comps and a 2 channel amp to power them.

I have an '88 CRX Si ........ trust me, you do NOT need rear (mid/tweeter) speakers. Get a good pair of seperates and put them in kickpods - the preformed ones from Q-logic are a little pricey - but all the planning is done. go here to see them http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/QLCQLK6001

From my experiences, you will get a slight sound from the kickpod speakers bouncing off the hatch glass. I know this works because I had a judge tell me I needed to turn up my rear (mid/hi) speakers ......... he had no idea I didn't have any. There are even a few songs that sound like the music is coming from behind me - even though there are no speakers back there.
