Looks good! I'm glad you finally got the right one. Are you going to install it or have your local muffler shop do it? It's so simple that you can do it. The toughest part is getting the muffler holders off and that really isn't tough with a little WD-40! :naughty:

Yes, I'll be doing it ... easy stuff.

Installed today ... went smooth. Didn't have access to a lift, so I ended up on ramps laying under the car ... no biggie. I'm enjoying the mellow-toned deeper sound; really wakes up the car! I'm still going to add tips and cut the bumper cover to suit.

The tips quiet the cabin down by at least 5 dB, but don't affect the exterior sound. Just FYI.

Here's a shot of the Magnaflow from the back, abeit laying down ... just one of the reasons I want to add some nice tips. Sorry, no sound bytes just yet ... I need someone to be on the throttle or operate the camera.

Looks good. I agree with Chris above. Adding tips will reduce the cabin noice and resonance.

I don't care to reduce any of the "noise"; in fact, I prefer it. I just think the system is more asthetically complete by finishing it off with tips.

Here's something funny ... I go out to the car today which I backed into the driveway this morning after a 30 mile drive and noticed that the outer edges of the rear bumper's lower plastic fascia surrounding the exhaust is being melted! I didn't take a picture, but I did end up cutting the ports larger ... looks much better even without extended tips. I'll post pics tomorrow. Fate, I guess?

I'll be taking my '01 LS V8 to the muff shop next week for some custom work. I noticed that the stock setup includes two resonators towards the middle of the vehicle, in addition to the monstrous pair of mufflers in the rear of the vehicle.
Does anyone know what the exhaust sounds like with the two rear mufflers cut off, running just on the resonators? Figured I could have them run 2 1/2" - 3" out the back with long tips (kinda like a stock '95 'Stang). Too loud with just the resonators? If so, I'm thinking that 40-series Flowmasters would fit in place of the rear muffs, I love that note.
That Magnaflow setup looks nice, but it's a tad pricey for my taste. :disappoin
