Does anyone know what would cause my brake lights to stay on even though the brakes aren't being applied? This only happens sometimes and just started doing it recently. :banghead: It seems like every time I get in that car something else is wrong with it.Is this common with Volkswagens? Thanks Gary

Brake light switches on the master cylinder are faulty. Replace them, bleed the system, and you should be all set.

i would wait until the light stay on pull the wire on one switch to see which one of the switches is bad. using a ohm meter check for the bad switch.
