Hopefully it will be worth the wait. And hopefully they'll have at least one model with 160hp or more, now that would be nice.

They updated their web site now, and gave some info on it. 109hp, and the Sport model has an auto tranny with sport shifters. I'm assuming the $13,000 price is for the base model, but that's pretty damn cheap if it doesn't come with a much slower engine.

Here is a Yahoo UK article on the Fit/ Jazz:

http://uk.cars.yahoo.com/car-reviews/car-and-driving/honda-jazz-1.4-sport-1003486.html

If this thing gets 5-star safety ratings like its big brother the civic,
Honda will have a monster on its hands.

Seriously, how gay can you Honda loving nuts really be?
This is the greatest thing to ever happen to go-karting!
The gas tank is under the driver’s seat! You’re sitting in it like a minivan!
Seriously though, if you actually want to know what this thing can do, check out spoon, they built an '03 j-spec one for pure racing and pulled a whopping 90 horses out of that piece and somehow managed to beat a mildly tuned 350Z around Willow Springs racetrack by nearly 3 seconds in the June issue of SCC.
I am a dedicated Honda hater and would like nothing but to collapse the company and recall all Honda’s around the world just so I don't have to see another riced out piece with an unpainted bodykit made in someone’s backyard, a ridiculous non-functional spoiler on the back of a front-wheel-drive car, and the loudest most obnoxious lawnmower muffler I've ever heard on a bone stock grocery-getter covered in stickers from parts manufacturers that don't own anything on the car in question and vinyl flames going down the sides of the cheap e-bay-bought secondhand carbon fiber-wannabe parts.

Alright, let's keep the posts civil and apporperiate. Remember this IS a honda forum so DON'T come in here just to insite a flame war or insult and flame hondas.

As for my Opinion on the Fit? If it and the Yaris (Vitz) get anywhere near the MPG they claim, who cares how it handles or how fast it goes...at over $3 a gallon, it if can pull that kind or mileage and not be a hybrid (I don't like Hybrids) then it's a winner in my book. Some of the Old CRX's got decent acceleration and great gas mileage out of that forumla...lightweight + low horsepower = great gas mileage and a little zip. It's nice to see Toyota and Honda trying to bring cars that fit that mold back to the USA in these days of over $3 a gallon.

I just ordered a blue Sports Fit and am excited about it, I am a male, and no I am not gay. I figured the look of it is the best appeal, there are so many generic looking cars out there, why not have fun in what you are driving. The MPG and style were the main attractions to this vehicle, for those that cant stand them, go buy another car then. If I do end up turning gay from driving this car, Ill let you know. Last counterpoint, who says they "look gay" anymore? Expand your vocabulary, read a book, open up your eyes man! Fit drivers, lets enjoy the ride!

The Fit still seems like a great little car, however I think the new VW Rabbit will blow the Honda out of the water! It's built on the Jetta/ Audi A3 frame.
With a 5-cylinder engine, top safety features and way more options than Honda...... only reliability, acceleration and mpg have a chance to keep the Fit in the game.

The Fit and the Rabbit really aren't even in the same class. The Fit is designed for a daily driver car. Good fuel economy and lots of cargo space. Maybe I'm wrong, but I see the Rabbit as more of a performance oriented car than that.

The Rabbit is a commuter/ small family car with 4 doors/ hatchback. It only has 5 normally aspirated cylinders which is appropriate for its weight. The version of the Rabbit that is "performance oriented" would probably be the Audi A3/ VW GTI. Those versions are quicker. If Honda made a Fit-si then it would be up against the A3/ GTI I believe. I've seen both in person. Hopefully IIHS will test both of them soon as my family will be buying the safer one.

The FIT is awesome! I am a huge lover of Honda (DUH!) My family swears by them. But we parked next to a FIT on Saturday and I looked in it. It was awesome! And for all you Honda Homies (god im a loser haha!) SUPER STREET just bought one for their new "Project Car." So you should subscribe (I love SS) or just pick up the next few months issues!!!
