Tuning AVC-r

Is any one out there running a super AVC-r on a MY02 WRX? USDM btw.
I'm trying to get it set up on a friends WRX and this is what I've done.
I've set 17psi as my target. Now with 60% duty cycle I can hit that in 3rd, but not other gears.
I've tried fb settings 9,8,6,5,4 with 54% for target of 1.0bar boost, learned all gears, then played with it but I can't get it to hit target boost. So scratch that.
I can hit 17psi boost in first if I have my start duty at ~35% in first gear, but then it won't hit in other gears. So scratch that :(
The best I've gotten is this, start duty like so,

Target 16.5psi 0->6500rpm and 17psi to redline (to try to fool it to hold full boost). I have my duty set for 54%-59% for all gears.

No takers?:( I have it kindof working, but I'm still not hitting target in 5th and 6th :( I know there's some one out there who's tuned one of these damn things. Super Spec V, didn't you say you installed one?
