95 plymouth voyager will not start

I have a 95 plymouth voyager that will not start. I've checked the fuses and relays to the fuel pump and they are all fine. I've checked the spark from the coil, and the plug wires and they have spark. (orange in color) I tried putting a little gas in the throtle body and it still wouldn't start. I tried listening for the fuel pump, but can't hear it yet I can still smell fuel after trying to start. I tried hitting the bottom of the tank while someone else is trying to start it ...still nothing. The motor turns over and releases a puff of white smoke out of the throtle body when you release the ignition. any help or suggestions on a remedy or possibilty why the van will not start will be greatly appreciated.

Is this a 3.0? If so you may have a timing issue as it has a timing belt that may have broken or jumped time. If not the spark should be blue in color not orange and it may not be hot enough to fire the fuel.

Instead of fuel try some starting fluid and see what happens. If it fires but fails to run then the problem is probably in the fuel system. On the fuel rail there is a fitting that you can depress, looks like a tire valve. Try depressing it while someone cranks the engine if not fuel comes from it you have a fuel pump issue. If you have fuel then the problem is with the ignition either the crank position sensor, or the timing may be off.

It's a 2.5 I looked for a valve on the fuel line, but there isn't one the fuel lines run to the to the throttle body I think it's a single-point EFI. The fuel pump and filter were replaced in June of 03.

Try the starting fluid trick if it starts then the fuel pump is probably the issue. You can check the timing belt very easily by looking at the cam through the oil fill hole. If the belt is broken then the cam won't turn. If that is ok then you probably have an ignition issue. I am not certain if this is a distributer or distributerless ignition. If it has a distributer then the module is inside the distributer if not try the cps or ignition module/coils.

I fixed the problem. Ended up all the plugs were bad. Thanks for your help.

Welcome aboard. First, it's almost always best to start your own new thread. Usually you'll get more attention. Second, you've opened a 5 year old thread. Tryingtofixit may not be around anymore. Good to see you've used the search function but, opening old threads is a no no unless you've got useful info to add and not just another problem. Third, as he stated he changed the spark plugs to fix his problem.

Can you expand on your no start problem? Does it turn over/crank but not start? Have you tried any of the above suggestions? Any maintenance done just prior to this problem? Post it on this thread since you're already here.
