Hello,
I'm working on a friend's car for him. Lucky me it is a '96 Grand Prix with the 3.4 DOHC. The alternator is bad and it needs to be replaced. I looked at it and see no way to get it out other than out the bottom. What is the best way to get it out? It looks like I might be able to take the right front suspension and half shaft out and get to it, but I was working in his driveway in the snow so it was hard to make that call. Can you get it out just by dropping the suspension and half shaft or do you need to lower the engine cradle as well? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin Varnes

Thanks Eric. After doing some searching on the web last night I found this article on a W-Body forum. Looks like I'm going to need to have this guy bring it over to my house so I can do this in my garage. I'm not going to mess around with dropping the subframe down in his driveway in the snow. Hopefully this helps anyone else looking for this info.
