In the dask I hear a squeek and Ive taken apart the whole dash and cant find anything. Nothing seems to be loose, the truck has 340,000 miles on it. Any body have any ideas? The squeek is constant but will dull down when I start to brake.

Speedo needs lube in the shaft from the cluster side, its noticeable mostly when its cold, and could break if it gets stuck and winds up an pops, leaving you with no way to gage your speed.

The speedo is electricly driven, not with a cable, sorry I don't think this will fix it.

Well I believe I don't have what you have, my 89 does have a cable, and isn't electrical. All gages. No TFI, or TH400R trans. Somebody has changed it. Love the stepside.

my 88 is electric, and a 94 is electric. It has a 4L60E or 4L80E in it. My 88 has a 700r4 in it and is electricly driven. Yours may have the th400 in it which is a cable driven system. Is your's actually a R/V model or is it a C/K model?

Its a C/V model, 2 1/2. Will post pics soon. Corvette style tailgate...nice black step side.

The squeeking also happens when the truck is turned off. I can shake it at hear it. I think Im just going to tear apart my dash and find the problem
