Ipod is known as some of the best. unless you have ALOT of songs, 30 GB might be a bit excessive, but if price isn't an issue, what the hell. Also, Black is good. Black is cool, haven't seen one yet. Are you getting a mini or nano or shuffle or regular or ???

iPods suck. I have 2 friends who have had to send their iPods back to Apple to get fixed numerous times for having too many songs. I think one of my friends is on his 3rd iPod already in less than a year? :eek7:

iRiver makes a really nice 20GB MP3 player for around $200. Your local best buy should carry them. ;)

:eek7: too many songs? sounds like your friends have'nt got a clue how to use their iPods.

I've had one for the last year (mini), and love it. Never had any problems with it at all.

Always seems like the people who go through devices like the iPod or cell-phones so often are always the most careless with them. Had the same cell phone for close to 4 years without any problems. The only reason I got a new one was because a friend gave me hers after she got a new phone. Basically, if you take care of your gear, it should last.

I got an iRiver H10 20GB and it works great. Nice color display and very easy to use. They even have a couple colors to choose from:

I've got the 30 gig ipod w/ video. I love it. Can put tons of songs/movies/music videos/ whatever else you can think of. I agree that people who take care of their stuff will have it last the longest.

i currently have 1.94 GB of music, once i get the rest of my cd's on my comp it should be around like 2.5 GB i think. so 30 GB shouldn't be a problem, and i'm planning for the future, i anticipate much more music. i'm getting black to match my pretty new samsung p207 cell, idk if any of you know that phone, but it's black too. i just like the regular ipod. i don't want to pay extra for those other ones cuz they have features i can pretty much guarantee you i won't use. oh and i found a deal where i can get it online at a $60 discount, so that's even awesomer

I have no idea what your friends or yourself are doing to your iPod's but damn. I have an iPod 30 Gig and have no problems with it. I've seen a few iPod mini's (6gig) returned at my Target store, because the person returning it said that it froze on them or they can't see it in the dark.

After the guest had left, I opened the package and the thing worked perfectly fine. I tired it an hour later...still fine.

As a matter of fact 4 people returend iPod mini's to my target store saying it froze or it won't upload music. The fact is the person running the damn thing is a moron. One of them said it would'nt upload music. I was like WTF? So I take it out, and there were songs on there, and it worked.

My guess is that they don't like the iPods, but to be quite honest with ya, they are probably the most simple MP3 player to work with. Stay away from the shuffles....those are down right worthless. Unless you can remember 1-120 songs that you put on the damn thing.

Get the 30Gig iPod, you will not be dissatisfied. Because being able to put music, pictures, and music videos on the same device is down right sweet.

Don't get it off eBay, go to like a Best Buy or Target or some well known place. That's just my two cents on the whole deal.

had a third generation iPod for 2 and a half years now. the only problem i'm suffering is the battery depletion.

I have a question for iPod owners, who owns that "In-Ear" headphones and had to get them replaced a number of times because one ear dies out for some reason? ANd I take care of my stuff, everytime i use those head phones I take them out of the container, softly unravel them, use them, softly ravel them up in the container, and close the container.....

I got mine at bestbuy with the 3 yr service plan. Then one of my friends had the same one and it broke so i bought it off him, used the service plan and upgraded to the 30gig video(had a 20gig) for 50 bucks and the service plan rolled over onto that one. Worked out well for me, esspecially when i sold my 20 gig for 200.

iPods suck...i know this for fact now instead of me just hating them. a friend did a report, like for a newspaper, on mp3s and i was interviewed since i too am lookin for a mp3. Well, both radio shack and best buy associates reported how bad they were and they get a good amount of returns.

I'm probably getting the Sony one because im Sony loyal and i found it for $169 w/ 20gb. Sweetness i know. I've heard good things about Creative Zen though.

they get a good amount of returns cuz people are dumbasses and haven't figured out yet how to read an instruction manual and not break their shit.
