1997 Honda Accord 5 speed. I have been having problems with my car stalling - sometimes right after I start it and many times while driving. The lights, radio, air, all continue to work but the engine cuts off. I am able to start it up by turning the ignition but as soon as I release the key it happens again. If I apply pressure to the key I do not have this problem but. It started happening during very warm weather, but is now happening during cold weather as well. Does anyone know what would cause this, have any suggestions, and the cost to repair the problem?? Any advice will be appreciated!! Thanks

Sounds like an ignition switch. The ignition switch consists of an acc. switch, 2 ignition switches and the start switch. So you probably have bad contact on one of the ignition switches. You need to replace the whole switch but not the key tumbler unit. The switch is a separate unit.

There was a recall on those ign. switches i believe your year was one of them. Maybe call the dealer and ask them to run your vin and check for any open recalls.
