Camaro update...

So, I get it back... 6 weeks later.
And this is what I'm greeted with:
http://www.bottomliner.com/dent1.JPG
http://www.bottomliner.com/dent2.JPG
Yeah, a nice fat dent in the driver rocker panel. Seriously... WTF.
AND, after 6 weeks, $884.18 later... look how dirty they left my car!
http://www.bottomliner.com/dirty1.JPG
http://www.bottomliner.com/dirty2.JPG
They'll be getting a visit from me next week when their boss is there, I'll be talking to him about the dent, and the issue of a refund. I was more than patient in the matter, gladly paid the money on week one... and waited 5 more for them to fix it completely... I come get it and there's a dent and it's beyond filthy.
:cya:

I'm guessing it's implied because you didn't mention it.. but is it fixed? BTW are you still planning on getting rid of the maro' or was that just you getting caught up in the moment? Didn't you say something about an rb26dett powered 240z back in the day?

Yes, they fixed the car. And yes, soon as these body issues are resolved it'll be put on the market.

Actually... that's how F-Body's get dirty... you can wash the car nice and clean. Go for a quick drive to get some Tacos, come back and look at the back end of the car and it's dirty.
It's got to be something to do with the way the air swirls around behind the car... it's like a dust collecter.
But yes, this is totally unsatisfactory.
I'll be demanding a list of things, a full refund of the work done + body damage repair + a full months worth of car payment and insurance that I paid to have the car sit in their yard... no reason why just fixing the rear diff should take that long... and + after 6 weeks the car is returned to me beyond filthy with grease marks and handprints all over it.
This is bullshit. :banghead:

As I told you online, if they don't give into your plea, get the body shop by your workplace to estimate how much it will cost for the repairs, and then just take them to small claims court (Form SC-100 at www.courtinfo.ca.gov ).

dude... totally take them apart, you can usually tell how hard a car has been driven by how dirty it is, and on my white car at least, when its driven harder, its dirtier faster, than if i baby it
hencei think they had a lil fun in your car
sell it and buy another import, you seem to like nissan, so i'm wanting to see an s13 w/ s15 conversion and at the LEAST a s15 blacktop engine in there
if not i'll be very disappointed

Matt, dont take this the wrong way buddy but why did you ever get rid of the Panda? I mean I'm working on an old car too and I know its frustrating to maintain, all the rust, the hard to find parts, all that crap but your panda was a thing of glory.
I'm guessing the hefty down you put on the Camaro was from selling the Z.
sucks you gotta get rid of it after so short a time and all this trouble.
best of luck to ya Red.

I was tired of driving an old car everyday... it was loud to drive, there isn't any sound insulation in those 240z's... well not much, paper thin really.
But, the exhaust got on my nerves after awhile... suspension creaks and chassis moans... sunroof leaked... no heater or defroster. I got tired of sitting there with a roll of papertowels trying to wipe my windows clear.
They'd clear up... usually by the time I got to wherever I was going.
It just got old. To be totally honest, and as I look back on it the only time I was happy in that car was when I was hauling ass. And that's not safe... cause the only time that all the little things that pissed me off made sense was when I was baiting and hooking the next unsuspecting victim.
I figured the Camaro, which I had always liked, would be a good step up. A good blend of sportyness and daily driving. Fact of the matter is, for me... it wasn't a good blend of interior design and my biological design. I always felt awkward in it... seating position and such.
I was planning on selling it before any of the repairs took place, a few people on here can attess to that. But, now... it's a sealed deal. Soon as I can... it's gone.
And I'll move onto something else.

I can attest to him wanting to get rid of the Z28 before it had rearend problems. He's never been comfortable in it. He's somewhat short, and most LS1's are designed for taller people.

Red, sound deadening is easy, good stuff is like $1/sqft or you can get the lighter (and almost as good) spray on, 5gal is like $200.
heater instalation is like $100 and it comes with a defroster/fogger and sun roof problem was probably and wasy seal fix.
chassis squeaks can be fixed wit ha little grease.
now look what happened.
its the Z's spirit comming back to haunt you, lol.
