cd player wiring

i have a question about wiring a pioneer cd player up in my 98 camaro....we just got done installing one in my cousins 99 and it was not a problem at all....in my 94 we had no problems either but in this one the cd player will not get power....yes its hooked up correctly....so i tried to hook it up directly to the battery itself and still no power.....are there any other possibilities other than just a bad cd player? thanks!

This might not have anything to do with it but is your system the monsoon? Mine is when i had the pro's do mine it was a real pain in the ass i guess.

I know they had to take the built in amp out and its located by the rear panel where the spair tire is. that has to come out. and the wireing is a pain after that tookem like an hour to do it.

we finally got it half way working....we can get 6 of the 8 speakers working including the amp working too...there was like 5 or 6 wires left over...but every time we tried to connect them it would short out the whole system so we just left it with 6 speakers and the amp working....at first we had all 8 speakers working but when the key was turned forward there was a buzzer kind of sound that never went off so we unhooked it all and just hooked up anything that turned on a speaker and didnt make that noise....thanks gold!!
