Does anyone on here actually use P/E numberplates etc... I've got some for my Skyline and I've attempted to paint them as per the P/E emblem guide and it's like the work of the devil to make them look clean.
I've painted them, removed the paint from the raised edges and it just looks poor. I've also attempted to apply decals, that actually does work for smaller emblems but for number plates it doesn't work too well. Again it all looks scruffy.
What is the real advantage of using P/E plates, or is this just a gimmicky idea that doesn't work too well? I'm going back to the plastic plate with decal as it just looks a whole lot cleaner and easier to work with.
comments on this, anyone think the same, or are they worth the hassle?

I don't know why you don't like them, I love them, here is example both Monte plate + decal and licence plate + decal (allthou licence plate is flat). Hair drier makes magic since metal parts get very hot and then decal confirm like crazy.

I thought you could apply decals over P/E. I've done it before with P/E emblems and it looked great.
I must have done something wrong. I'll strip the paint off and try again.

Yeah, keep trying. Not everything works the first time.

Ok, I've had another go and I've got it looking better. But for P/E number plates do I attach this to the plastic numberplate part first and then attach to the model, or just attach the P/E plate direct to the model?
Thanks everyone... It's all about learning... Slowly..!!!!!

Do it directly to avoid thicknes of the part.
