I think you said it all by putting in the ( :banghead: :banghead: ). It will be a lot of work. Changing motor mounts, wiring harneses, air flow ducts, and so forth. If you want a cadi engine buy a cadi.

How is your 3800 running? Why do you want to switch engines? If your engine is toast, there are a lot of them around which would drop right in.

Please give this a lot of thought before you start. I know from experience that you are opening a large can of worms!

If I were you and really wanted a CaddyBuick combination, I would offer my friend at the junk yard, $1500.00 cash and all the beer he could drink, to install it for you, just to prove what he said.

thank for the advice. i thought it would be difficult. my engine is in pretty good shape my tranny on the other hand is toast. the only reason i thought of the caddy engine is so i would have me a v8 thats a little lighter than a caddy and would be a surprise to people.

Does your friend have a tranny for a good deal you can put in?

I read in the auto section of the weekend paper that buick has a v8 option for its new model.
