Speedometer and Final Drive

I have a quick question that i am unsure of the answer to. I just recieved a civic type-r transmission with an integra 98'+ spec type-r final drive. (4.785 instead of 4.400). I opened the trans up to verify also. My question is this. Since the speedometer reads off the final drive, will it be off? Or does it even run off the final drive; i'm pretty sure it does. Any help is appreciated.

Nope, it wont be different from a 4.4... You're right that the speedometer reads off the final drive; the Type-R final drive turns just as fast(assuming the same size wheels/tires) as a 4.4:1 Final drive at, say 50mph...Only difference is the Type-R final drive will be at a higher rpm.

You were exactly right. I installed the transmission yesterday and the speedo is dead on. Thanks
