front end alignment

Just had the front end aligned on my 96 jetta. Two days later the three bolts that hold the lower ball joint in were gone! I claimed to the mechanic that they had to loosen these bolts to adjust the camber and then didn't tighten them. Now they should realign the car. I looked in the Hains manual and it doesn’t tell how to align the car.
