Weird winding noise

ok well i just finished racing my friend in his 240sx and and i beat him but then after the race my car stated to make some weird winding noise im not sure what it is....i think it might be the clutch going bad but i just recently replaced it...i dont no whats wrong the car makes a winding noise everytime i engage first gear just before i relese the clutch peddle it runs fine, the winding is only heard just before i shift.....can n e body tell me whats wrong~ id greatly apprciate it

first of all, with that new clutch, did you replace the pilot bearing? Second, check your belts. If your timing belt is too loose or too tight it can cause a noise upon hard acceration and sudden deceration.

Thanks for the info but i think its my clutch now,cuz im having a hard time shifting into gears. im always grinding every gear when i try to shift and sometimes it doesnt even go into gear.

If you're lucky it's the clutch, but grinding and not going into gear sounds like it could be synchros.
