full specs of stock car

i have a 2002 cavalier LS 5speed with sport package. i've searched chevy.com and google up and down the street for a full detailed list of specs about my car, but i can't find anything really juicy.

the brochure that came with the car sucked, and the manual is ok, but mostly about fuse box/oil cap location and how to brake in the snow.

mostly what i'm looking for are all the specs that i would use with either these tools:

also stuff like how wide my exaust is, what kind of brakes/clutch come stock... etc. any help would be greatly appreciated.

What specs would you be talking about? Most of this stuff you need to just look at your car and figure out. For exhaust measure the area around your exhaust pipe with a string and divide it by pi (~3.14). For the brakes, just look.

but you need a valid login to get into the service manual section... how bogus... i mean, i did pay for my car, what's all this crap with the man keeping me down not letting me learn about it.

damnit, looks like the only reliable place to find service manuals for end users is at http://www.helminc.com/

had to pay $135 (before shipping) for the service manual! but i guess it's worth it... the picture of this book looked thicker than my text books for school. this might end up being the most worthwhile purchase for my car yet (i hope).

:eek7: Dang man, you could have went to any parts store and gotten a Haynes manual for like $15. Its helped me do everything I have needed to do.

i went to the local autozone and they told me for the most complete reference to my car, the one i got is the one i want. although it probably would have been smarter to start with a cheaper manual... i just wanted all the information about my car possible...

having the biggest manual available to look through will be nice in comparison to wasting all day looking for the right chunk of information about my car on the internet.. for that alone it will easily be worth the money.

i got those service manuals and they wern't as impressive as i'd hoped. they were thick as all hell, but so much of the instruction was for safety and redundant safety that it nearly filled half the material. i learned a lot about my car by skimming through it real quick though, so in the end it was definately worth the price.

now i can do oil changes, break changes, hvac repair... my passanger window motor went bad under warranty once, but if that happened again i could fix it. everything from changing the battery to basically a full engine rebuild. not that im anywhere near good enough to build an engine, but the battery...

maybe next time i'll try one of those Haynes manuals for $15 though..
